VirtualBox fails with script error on Wizard.hta RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there.

We have MDT working successfully for physical client machines but when attempting to install via VirtualBox we get an error after the PXEBOOT and WinPE stages. It is when the Wizard.hta script attempts to run and we see a window stating "Wizard.hta Script Error".

If anyone can think what might be causing this or how I can troubleshoot this further it would be most appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • N.B. I gave the VM more memory and CPU (from 1xCPU 512MB to 2xCPU 4GB) and it now runs fine.

Guess WinPE needs a bit more than I initially gave it.

  • Usually wizard errors mean theres an issue getting to where the scripts are, either on the local X: or getting to the Task Sequences on Z:

  • Ran it again and now get the following:

    Script: X:\Deploy\Scripts\ZTIGather.wsf
    Line: 0
    Char: 1
    Error: : VBScript
    Code: 800705AA
    Source: Windows Script Host

I can press F8 to get a command prompt and see the file.

    Unsure of the error code.

  • Makes sense, that means it was working at 512MB of memory, you just needed to wait longer.  Good luck with your deployment.
