SCCM Client update to R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi,

I just wondered.. cause i am newer to SCCM :)

    I have recently update my SCCM from 2012 SP1 CU2 to 2012 R2

the site version is now - 5.00.7958.1000

all the clients version is - 5.00.7804.1300

the question is - after the update - shouldn't the setup create an updated client packages for distribution? and how I can create manually? Cause i cannot see any new package.

    and from which folder exactly..?

    Thanks !

  • You can use the default ConfigMgr client package. It contains the updated binaries.

  • the issue is that the default client package doesn't have a program..!

and i cannot click "Create Program" on this Package - it is hidden.

  • True. Forgot about that. Either create a new package then or use the automatic client upgrade feature that can be found in the hierarchy settings.

  • i would prefer to to create new package rather to automatic for testing..

for that to use \\Server\SMS_SoteCode\bin or \\Server\SMS_SoteCode\Client  msi files?

    is it the same?
