Service Packs RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

We are using Sharepoint 2007 and are currently on SP1 ( and would like to upgrade to SP3.  Our environment consists of 2 Web Front Ends, 1 Application Server and 1 SQL Server.  I need to know the following information please:-

    1) Can we go straight to SP3 or do we need to install SP2 first, as someone articles suggest that you need SP2 because of our farm setup?

    2) Links to downloads - WSS and Moss

  • Hi Bob10202124,

Because office service packs are cumulative, you don’t have to install service pack1 or service pack2 before you install service pack 3. SP3 includes all the fixes which were included in SP1 and SP2.

You can get the download link from following:

  • Hi Qiao

Thanks for your response.  The link you sent allows me to download the following:-

Does this contain both WSS and MOSS updates or do I need a separate one for WSS?

Furthermore, our Central Admin is hosted on a WFE.  Does that mean we need to install the updates on that server first?

Also, do we need to run a Sharepoint Products and Technologies Config wizard after all the updates have been installed on the servers?

    Kind Regards
