Change OLAP Cube Build Job Owner RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm not sure if anyone has experienced this issue before.

System Specs: Single Server Install Running:
    Windows 2003 R2 64-bit SP2
Office Project Server 2007 Version: 12.0.0.6535
    SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition (64-bit) 10.0.2531.0 SP1

The issue that I'm having is that the user who originally owned the OLAP Cube Build jobs has been deleted when the cube build fails no notification is being send out. I would like to update the owner of the Olap Cube jobs so that if the nightly cube build job fails a notification is send out to the System Account which has been configured with a group mailing list.

I have already tried the following.

    1. Reconfigure Cube Build Settings using system login.
    2. If I run cube build on demand that job to build the cube is owned by the user to requested it.

    Thank you in advance.

  • It sounds as though this person used their personal account instead of service accounts in the system. The service account running Analysis Services builds the cubes, so you may need to change this using SQL Server Management Studio. It would be a good idea to review your service accounts in general before you end up with more surprises.

  • I have reviewed all service accounts and they are all using the appropriate accounts. The user account in question is not used anywhere.

Because we do not use AD Sync when I add the old user back it gets a new GUID vs using AD GUID
