Project names mismatched from project pro VS PWA RRS feed

  • Question

  • I bumped into a strange case.  We clean up our projects every once in a while and was told to delete a project name xxxxx-xxxx--3, when I look into project pro I see it as  xxxxx-xxxx--2.  When I looked into the PWA it shows as xxxxx-xxxx--3, but only when I clicked on it and it showed xxxxx-xxxx--2.

How is this possible?  I have already deleted that project but it really confusing if we later need it back as the project in the project pro say 2 but the world see it as #3.

Our scheduler changed the name once in a while could it be something they forgot? If yes, where.

  • Hi,

It is probably due to the fact that it has not been published.

When you open the project in MS Project, you'll see it from the DRAFT table (not published). When you go to PWA project center, you see the the published version, but when you open it in PWA, you access the DRAFT version.

It is likely that the version xxx3 has not been published. So in the project center, the last published version is the xxx2 that you see in the project center, where as in MS Project you see the draft version of the xxx3.

    Hope this helps,
