Outlook 2010 contacts duplicating themselves, how to help? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm running Outlook 2010 on my personal computer. A couple of days ago, I noticed that there was copy of 4 of my contacts in Outlook and I ignored it. Later on, the number of duplicate contacts got increased and it came to my attention. Now there is a gigant number of duplicate contacts in my Outlook account and I really have no idea what to do with that. Please suggest a genuine solution so that I can implement and get rid from this problem.

    Kind Regards,

    Bruce Anderson

  • Hi Bruce,

Are these duplicate contacts created in a separate contacts folder or in the same contacts folder?

Do you have your email account synced on other devices, especially mobile devices? This issue usually happens because the same account was synced on a mobile device. You may try to stop syncing your accounts with any mobile device and then see whether there are more duplicate contacts get created.

To delete these duplicate contacts, you may try the steps in this article:

    Hope this helps.
