  • Hi,

I would like to verify why you want to register this file? When did you receive the error message? Where is the comdlg32.ocx from?

It is not recommend to copy file to Windows folder and register this way, and it is not easy to do so due to security reason. If you receive the error when running some programs, I suggest reinstalling these programs with compatibility.

    Method:

Right click install file -> Troubleshoot compatibility -> Try recommended settings -> Start the program -> next -> save the settings.

    Best Regards,

    Niki

  • Hi,

Try to disable UAC or run cmd with elevated privileges.

Click Start, type cmd in the search box, right click cmd in the list and run as administrator. Then run the command again.

    regsvr32 c:\Windows\SysWOW64\comdlg32.ocx

  • Hi,

Since comctl32.ocx is a VB related file, I suggest contacting Visual Basic General forum to get more suggestions.
