  • Hi,

Welcome to the Office 2016 and Office 365 ProPlus IT Pro General Discussions forum.

Since this forum is for general questions and feedback related to Microsoft Office applications, and your question is more related to Paint on Windows 7, I'll move it to a more appropriate forum:

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/home?forum=w7itproui

The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. Thank you for your understanding.

    Regards,

    Steve Fan

  • Hi vishal_therade,

"Greyed out" usually means we didn`t have permission to do the operation. Please try to run the "Paint" as administrator or try to login with another administrator account.

Compare the following registry key`s permission with a normal machine.
    HKLM\Software\Clients\Mail

    Best regards

It should be obvious to the most casual observer this is not a Windows 7 issue.

If the option functions correctly with Office 10, but does not function correctly with Office 365, then the logical conclusion is there is a conflict with Office 365 and the Paint program!!

Perhaps the 1st responder should reevaluate his decision to move this thread.

  • Hi ,

Please ensure you have configured the Office as the default program. We could install another Mail app such as "Windows Live Mail" then configure that app as default program then check the symptom again.

As I pointed before, the issue should be mainly related to the registry key "HKLM\Software\Clients\Mail". Please ensure the "Users" has full control of that registry key and tick the "Replace all child object permission entries" option.

Check the option on other applications, too. Such as the Internet Explorer 11.

    Best regards
