Table.Profile Request RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys

    Just an odd request - can you please add a count of positive and a count of negative records to Table.Profile?

    Further, I haven't done any testing so I apologise if I'm incorrect but does Table.Profile query fold?  It seems to be very slow in my experience.

  • On my machine, when I run this query

    let
        Source = Sql.Databases("."),
        Test = Source{[Name="Test"]}[Data],
        crm_accounts = Test{[Schema="crm",Item="accounts"]}[Data],
        Profile = Table.Profile(crm_accounts)
    in
        Profile

    It folds into a single rather-gigantic SQL statement that takes a long time to run. The statement has one subquery per column in the table.

  • Like most things, we fold it when we can and we don't when we can't. If you can give a specific source, we may be able to give a more concrete answer for what's expected and why.

  • The source for this query is a local instance of SQL Server installed on SQL Server 2016
