Exchange 2010 RPC Encyption question

Question
-
Quick question. We are running Exchange 2010 SP3 RU 5 (latest and greatest). All of our CAS servers have RPC Encryption disabled. If clients are enabled for Encyrption will this encrypt traffic to the CAS servers? Question is we're seeing issues with some of our Cisco Wan Optimizers. I just want a better understanding if only the client side (Outlook 2007/2010) is enabled does that encrypt.Tuesday, March 25, 2014 9:10 PM

unless you enable the encryption on the CAS server, it won't

Hi,
Agree with above opinion, if all cas servers have disabled RPC Encryption, Clients will not be encrypted traffic to the server regardless of whether the client encryption is enabled.
More details refer to the following articles:
Outlook connection issues with Exchange 2010 mailboxes because of the RPC encryption requirement
In addition,Microsoft strongly recommends you leave the encryption requirement enabled on your server.
Hope this helps!
Thanks.
