SharePoint Central Administration access by administrator group? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

My SharePoint Central Administration can be accessed only by the Administrator who installed Project Server 2010. All the other users with administrator permissions cannot access this Central Administration.

What is the permission they miss?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Do you mean your Project Server Administrator group members can't access CA?

SharePoint CA is a seperate entity to Project Server and as such admins won't have access. It sounds like the user that provisioned / installed PS2010 already had access to CA. If you wish to grant other users access, you need to explicitly add them via Site Settings > Site Permissions on the CA site. Be careful though, access to CA allows you to reconfigure / modify the WHOLE SharePoint farm, if your user doesn't know what they are doing, they should not be in there.

    Hope this helps,
