Issues creating mailboxes in exchange 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • So, I'm not a FIM admin but figured I'd ask the question here. I'm working with the FIM admin on getting FIM to create new user mailboxes. We're running exchange 2013.

I made the needed FIM account a member of the Organization Management group and also the Recipient Management group for exchange. He's been unsuccessful in creating mailboxes. Can someone who knows FIM tell me what access his account will need for this?

    Thanks

  • The user account used in the AD MA, needs to be added to "Exchange Recipient Administrators" group

  • So we have that setup. The ADMA account is part of both the Organization Management group and also the Recipient Management group. There is not default group called specifically called Exchange Recipient Administrators" but the groups mentioned are exchange groups. I'm not sure what's going on then.

    Thanks for responding.

  • We need to see what errors you are getting in FIM/MIM.  You need to provide the 3 required attributes during provisioning "mailNickName, homeMDB, and ExchangeHomeServerName". You also need to enable Exhange provisioning in AD MA and enter the Exchange URI (CAS Server) http://CAS/PowerShell.  For Exchange 2013, select Exchange 2010 from the dropdown.
