  • Question

Windows Server 2012R2 found an Quantum Single Tape Drive, but no Library / Changer.

No other unkown Device in Device Manager. Dell Drivers are present für Tape and Changer. DPM2012R2 only shows Single Tape Drive.

  • It is fixed!

Dell Perc H800 (Raid) can not be used!

You need an normal SAS HBA Controller Card. Now it shows up in Device Manager.

  • Please download the correct Driver from Vendor, maybe it should be an IBM Driver, thats correct.

there should be an "exclusive.exe" and a "nonexclusive.exe" use the nonexclusive.exe to install the Driver, reboot your server and take a look.

  • Hello,

    I used https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER01953277M/2/DELL_POWERVAULT_124T_A10_P48C1_ZPE.exe

This is the last driver fpr PV 124T with LTO-5 drive.

There is an Loader_DRV folder and an LTO-5 SAS folder with Quantum tape drive Driver.

But, if the device manager in2012R2 doesn´t show up unknows device, how to install the loader driver ? Mouse right tap on driver inf file -> windows said ok, but nothing happens.

  • There is also a firmware update by Dell for PV124T. I am not sure if that would fix this issue but you may want to try that out.
