Installing applications with MDT 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have 2 applications users can decide which one to install during deployment. These two apps are Office 2013 x86 and Office 2013 x64. Right now they can mistakenly choose both so I am wondering if it is possible to avoid that? Is it possible if they choose 32-bit version that 64-bit is automatically unticked and cannot be choose and vice versa?

    Thanks,

  • Unless users need it for very specific reasons you probably don't want any users installing 64 bit office.  And the short answer to your quest is there is not an MDT way to have it only one without custom scripting.

Most important details are logs. If you are unsure how to post logs or where to find them then reference https://keithga.wordpress.com/2014/10/24/video-mdt-2013-log-files-basics-bdd-log-and-smsts-log/

  • You can achieve what you want with selection profiles. Note that you will have to alter DeployWiz_Applications.vbs to make this work.

This will filter the applications shown in the deployment wizard by whatever task sequence is chosen.
