Change Internet Name

    Question

  • Hi,

I have a Client with a SBS 2011 standard server who has changed there internet domain name. I need to change it on the sbs server. I have tried to use the Setup your Internet address wizard. I get  an error dialog "Internet Address Management " In order to register a domain name you must first run the connect to internet wizard.

Everything before this try looked setup correct.  Is there a way to fix, or setup manually?

    Your help is much appreciated!

    Thanks

  • hi,
which step do you stuck? Do you already have a new domain name and want to change it .
You can try to use "Fix My Network Wizard"
it will automatically scans the environment for potential issues with Certificate Services, certificates, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP configuration, VPN, Exchange, IIS, and Network Discovery:
    https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/sbs/2008/11/26/introduction-to-the-fix-my-network-wizard-fncw/
Then click the Internet Address Management to open Internet Address Management. It will cover exiting configuration with your new typing.
    you can refer this document:

  • Andy,

Yes I have customers new name.

No luck. Only 2 of the connectivity wizards run without an error. The add a certificate and VPN.   The fix network comes back with 2 errors which it does not fix, 1. Internet port mapping missing. All ports are mapped 80,443,987,25, and 1723.

    2. Exchange smtp connector invalid

    Thanks
