Webpart viewing problem, missing from my view but not from others RRS feed

  • Question

  • i have created a site and made some people have full control access to they can assist in modifying the main page.

when i try to edit the page, and was about to add a web part, the list for all web part is missing.

when i ask the other account to check, i was surprised that the options are available for his account.

im not sure where to check, all our accounts have full control, all other accounts i granted are able to view the webparts but not me.

i know that being a site collection admin will make this options available, but why do the other accounts have them when they are not site admins.

i believe we are using sharepoint 2007.

We need accurate information. So we need you to tell us that you are using a particular product NOT that you believe you have something.

Go to either the ? at the top-right of the screen or access Site Settings. Both should tell you which SP product and give the full version number. 12.etc. is a SharePoint 2007 product.

    Please let us know.

(and people please wait until there is a reply to this question before you post replies in the thread)

P.S. There are two SharePoint 2007 products - WSS 3.0 and MOSS 2007. Sometimes it is important to know which.

SP 2010 "FAQ" (mainly useful links): http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx
WSS3/MOSS FAQ (FAQ and Links) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx
Both also have links to extensive book lists and to (free) on-line chapters

  • Did you try logging into any other system and see if the issue remains? That will confirm the issue with your account, else something with your system...

  • yes xwindow, i tried doing that and i still cant see the full webpart list. but whoever i add and give full control is able to see the webparts.

to be clear, the standard webparts are visible but the all webparts are not.
