FTA not being removed RRS feed

  • Question

  • A user has Visio Viewer installed on system and it works

They get added to the AppV group for Visio Standard and it works they are able to launch it and runs fine.

Remove the user from the AppV group and Visio no longer is there however

When trying to launch a visio file instead of going back to the Visio viewer it still trys to access Visio standard and gives a error that they don't have permissions to launch.

Have tried rebooting and updating AppV client, why would it leave behind a FTA to an app the user has been removed from?  How do I fix it so that it goes back to launching Visio viewer.

  • How are you handling user profiles? When using the App-V Management Server to deploy applications to users, FTA will be added to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes. Is this key being saved by some process before the App-V client can remove the FTAs?

  • This is just a test environment.  Simple architecture.  not doing anything special, nothing should be saving...

  • Hello,

So what is "nothing" special then?

  • Not sure I understand.  It is full architecture, with pretty much all defaults.  Setup as a POC.

Having this happen though, not sure why have tested from two machines.

  • Hello

Yes, Aaron's question was more related to the profile management? How are they handled within your environment? Any antivirus special solution setup with default settings? any other system filter drivers installed? Any other software that access the system (and the keys mentioned by Aaron)?
