Upgrading from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium RRS feed

  • Question

  • I currently have Windows Vista Home premium installed on my computer and need to upgrade to windows 7.

I understand I will  have to purchase it, that is fine, it has been suggested to look on amazon, etc. I just want to make sure of a product code or ID number specifically before i make any purchase.

As I said i currently have windows vista sp2, build 6002, and am wanting to upgrade to windows 7 sp1.

    please advise.

  • Hi,

The upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft.

If you need to install or reinstall Windows 7 you can use this page to download a disc image (ISO file) to create your own installation media using either a USB flash drive or a DVD.

Download Windows 7 Disc Images (ISO Files)

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7

In addition, since Microsoft Store no longer sells the Windows 7 product key, I’m afraid your best bet is connecting retailers for further help.

    Best Regards,

    Tao
