  • Yes, BFPC will populate it but you have to add a permission (i.e. Group) to a role first. To get this working you need the following:

    1. Groups in tblObjects with an Application of "AD"

    2. People in tblObjects with the same userID as they have in FIMEmployee and an Application of "AD"

    3. The AD application will appear in BHOLD Core, you then need to set "Provision as groups" to "YES" in the application

    4. You need to then add some AD permissions (groups) to BHOLD roles and you should see the memberships start to appear in tblReferences

    Hi Dave
Thanks for the helpful info. Please can you indicate in more detail where to find the "Provision as groups" setting. I have checked everywhere in BHOLD portal and can't seem to find it.

    Regards

  • Sorted it out. Worked through the Technical Release Notes for BHOLD Suite and the "Provision as groups" setting magically appeared under the application settings.

  • Hi Lance, Dave,

Will BHold be able to attest the users for applications which do not manage their roles using groups, but store role attributes at user’s profile of the application.

As per my understanding, for attesting the applications, BHold stores users and groups for each application, in its own database. Groups store references to members of the group. BHold groups (or permissions) can be mapped to roles or permissions of applications.

However, some applications simply store role information in some attribute(s) of user object. These applications do not have any separate role objects referencing users who carry that role. Hence we do not have any role object of application which can be mapped to BHold groups.  So, for such applications how will BHold identify the roles which users have at the application as mapping application group and BHold group is not possible?
