System Center Data Protection 2012 with SQL 2012 Standard RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Expert,

I encounter problem with deploy SCDPM 2012 with SQL 2012 Standard. This problem I encounter during SCDPM 2012 prerequisite checker. As software prerequisite for SCDPM 2012, I checked in Microsoft website there is no SQL 2012 stated. So my question is is the SQL 2012 are supported or not for SCDPM 2012 products?

Is the SQL 2012 instance name quite different with previous version?

    My environment

    OS: WS2012 Standard

    Standalone Server

    Domain environment

  •  Hi.

You need to wait for SP1 to come out of beta to have support for SQL 2012 as DPM database and Windows Server 2012 as OS.

Yes, just now I success to installed DPM 2012 SP1 using RC version with 180 days evaluation.

I'm just curious, After exceed 180 days, Is the RC version able to register with product key?

    Thanks

  • Hi

You can run the RTM version and enter a product key which will do an in place upgrade but you can do that before it expires.

    Kind Regards
