How to establish a DB connection to public folder RRS feed

  • Question

  • I wish to establish a "linked" table for Access from a public folder in exchange. The initial connection I am attempting will be to a contacts folder. Is there an ODBC driver (or some such) available to enable this? Any suggestions or suggested reading would be appreciated.

    Access 2007 SP1
    SBS 2003 (Exchange vers 6.5.7638.1)

    Thanks for reading,

  • A bit more information .......  Using a connection via an Outlook session has some major limitations. I can only look at / query one connected folder at a time. ie a query that uses two connected folders will not work, even establishing a second connection while one folder/table is open in Access will fail. The fields available from the "Outlook" type connection are not comprehensive. Some of these limitations (the available fields?) may be overcome with some hacking of the Outlook profile. To me the simplest would be to be able to establish a connection directly to the public folder (without Outlook getting in the way).

    Thanks again,
