Office365 -- Exchange Online Plan 1: Active directory Integration obligatory? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi forum,

Exchange Online Plan 1 includes the ability to synchronize user accounts of your local Active Directory with it.

My question is if you have to use the synchronization feature or if you also can manage the users independently (-> no ADDS integration) as you have to with the Small Business plans.

I didn't find this information on the plans' explanations:

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/microsoft-exchange-online-email-for-business-FX103739072.aspx

    Thanks in advance!

    Best Regards,

    Jan

  • It's not mandatory to sync with your ADDS, that's just in case you want to provision users from your AD and manage all the info from there to keep them synced with Exchange Online.

So, if you don't want to do it, you can always do it from your Office365 portal :-)
