Re-order multiple instances of program on taskbar RRS feed

  • Question

  • I often have RDP connections to many computers open concurrently--so many that I want to arrange them alphabetically so I can more easily naviage through the windows on the taskbar.

With Windows XP, I used a free utility called TBarSort that allowed me to drag and drop taskbar items into any order in a separate window, then apply the change to re-order them. That application does not work with Windows 7; however, Windows 7 now allows me to drag-and-drop them directly on the taskbar. There is, however, one limitation that affects my window use rather greatly: even with the taskbar button combine option set to Never Combine, it moves the entire group, giving me no way to re-order multiple instances of an application--only different applications.

Is there a way around this limitation?
