importing backed up GPO in SCM2 errors RRS feed

  • Question

  • I went into GPMC and backed up all my GPO's. I am trying to import them into SCM2. While some of them have imported just fine. There are a few GPO's that won't import and gives the following error.

    Security Compliance Manager Error.

An Item with the same key has already been added.

after clicking on ok I get the next message

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

anyone have any ideas??? I'd really like to get these imported

  • JBardi,

I'm not sure what's going on, I suggest that you zip and email the GPO backups that fail to import to secwish@microsoft.com, our test manager can then ask one of the testers to examine them.

  • While I have never heard back from secwish@microsoft.com. I copied a GPO I was having problems with and started removing some settings to see if I could get it to import and once I removed all  the settings from the File System section the policy imported.

Guess SCM doesn't like to import file system settings

  • I'm on the secwish mailing list, your message never got through for some reason. Anyway, glad you got things working.
