Error in Earn value over time visual report with master project having more then one sub projects utilizing common shared resource pool RRS feed

  • Question

  • when I use more then one sub projects having shared resource pool under the one master project & run report Earn value over time, it doesn't pick all sub projects tasks in task pivot, only one sub project's tasks are picked & rest are ignored. so this report become useless until it picks all sub project's task. I believe project don't export other sub tasks to excel & this seems to be a bug in MSP 2010 profesional

  • I tried to reproduce the error but wasn't succesfull, all subprojects were loaded as expected. Could you please check the following:

    - does the master have a link to the resourcepool?

    - do you have a project summary task active (ID=0, looks like a gray summary task in the Gantt)? How to: Gantt chart format tools --> check the Project summary task.

    - did you open and close all the subprojects once? This will load all the resource allocation information. How to: CTRL+A, view -->outline --> all subtasks after it is loaded --> outline level 1.

    Now, with these things done:

Select the project summary task (ID=0) and run the report again.

Hope this get's better results, please let us know.

  • Maybe related to status date settings in the subproject?  Check the post below for the section on EVMS.
