Automatic Updates Detection frequency RRS feed

  • Question

  •  I want to my computers receive software deployments by a schedule time, no after 22 hours or  by manually intervention. So, I think on change the "Automatic Updates Detection frequency". This will work fine?

My idea is change this to 1 hour, and the SCE will work like SCCM advertisement schedule. Right?

  •  Generally, leave the default setting and client can detect needed update every 22 hours after bussiness time. You can change it based on your requirement.

  • Hi,

You can change SCE managed computers GPO  to accomplish it. Edit this GPO and then navigate to computer configuration->administrative templates->windows update. In right pane, you will find automatic updates detection frequency setting. You can change detection time to 1.

  •  Hi,

It depends on your environment bandwidth, client numbers and software urgency. I recommend not set detection frequency more often. The value can be greater and this will not throttle bandwith on business time.
