DPM 2010 - Back up location RRS feed

  • Hi All,

    How do you change the current location of the back up. Im currently backing up to a San box and im looking to move to another location on my network. Im guessing i just need to repoint this. Please can you tell me how?

  • HI,

    DPM always stored backup data on disks that you added to the DPM Storage pool.  If you want to change the disks in the storage pool, you will have to migrate the datasources from the old disk to the new using the Migratedatasourcedatafromdpm.Ps1 power shell script.

    Once you migrate it, wait for the recovery points to expire and those old san volumes and they will be deleted by DPM.  Once the old SAN disks are all free space, you can remove them from the system.
