  • Hi,

    Thanks for update.

It should no problem to deploy brachcache feature if you complete upgrade server to Windows server 2008 R2.

And yes, with proper configurations , the access speed form clients where in remote site will be improved.

I think you may referring offline files feature on windows 7 , and yes both features should work together well.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for posting here.

Which service are you using to access these resources form internet ? FTP or SMB ? and what’s the OS running on server and client ?

It’s appreciate that if you could discuss your scenario in detail.

Yes, deploying branch cache is way could achieve your goal, but have to meet some requirement first , like OS version of client and server. Etc.

Enabling offline files feature and configuring slow link mode on client side is the simplest way to avoid this issue you are encountering now:

    Hello

Client PC's are running Windows 7 enterprise and files are located on windows 2003 fileserver over the WAN.

i am installing a windows 2008 r2 server to replace the windows 2003 server.

users need to browse files and folders thru windows file explorer (SMB).

When the branchcache feature will be activated, does the browse will be faster ? or just the file tranfert will be speed up ?

edit : can branchcache feature and disconnect file feature be used together ?
