Mail server has been blacklisted [message bounces - 550 SC-001]

  • I have been sent to this forum from my previous post in the Microsoft community

My web server seems to have been blacklisted (mail error 550 SC-001) however when checking with online tools the server is listed as "insufficient emails to score" so I am not sure as to why emails are being blocked! (the server is not used for marketing - only personal emails)

I have searched online however all the links to a "blocklist removal form" are dead and no longer work, does anyone know where I can find the new form?

I have tried adding SPF, DKIM and DMARC records and as a precautionary measure implemented a 25 message per day limit in apache however emails to live/hotmail/outlook etc. are still bouncing.

Any advice on sorting out this issue would be greatly received as at present, as a driving instructor, not being able to reply to enquiry emails from Microsoft accounts is a big problem for me.

  • Hi Ash,

please use this link and test your email score :

Then use this link to check where you have been blacklisted:

Use both hostname and IP. Sometime hostname will pass, but IP will be blocked. On each site it has been black listed, they have own form you can send in to be removed from blacklist.

If you are using Exchange, please confirm you don't have a lot of emails in the queue.

Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you. Thank you! Off2work
