Shrink Vista failure, Keeps stating needs to run chkdsk (repeatedly) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Vista bad news so far.

Latest one, it won't let me shrink the Vista C: partition.

Intending to install EasyBCD and do a Fedorra Dualboot on my laptop.  However the  'shrink' instruction after peciying I can shrink 40Gb, won't let me.  Says there are errors on the disk and need to run chkdsk.

Chkdsk has been run 5x with no problems, though can't find a log to view.
chlntfs has also been run, as has sfc.

    running Vista Home Premium.

    Any advice?
