Minimum Password Length policy

  • Hi

    I have created the value to be "5" for this policy.  How do go about creating a message that pop's up on the PC if an user types in a password that is 1-4 characters?  I want them to be aware of what the requirement is vs. them calling the IT Department looking for assistance.

    There should be a warning after trying to set a wrong password, telling the user that the password does not match the requirements (complexity). You can't modify this warning message.

    There is no way with Windows tools as I know. You could use 3rd party password filter tools, which come with such features. Take a look here as an example:

    I agree with Norbert. As far as I know, there is no built-in method to display this message to users. However, if you want this message to be displayed for users when they change password before password expiration, in this case, you could setup a password expiration notification Email solution with password policy, including minimum password length.
