Anytime Upgrade with wrong country language RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Techs,

I bought a Sony VAIO not long ago with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit preloaded on it and chose English as Display Language since this is my mother tongue.

Now I would like to Upgrade to Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit with Anytime but can't because English isn't the default language of my country (Switzerland).

I'm a bit screwed here because changing the Display Language is only possible with Windows 7 Ultimate.

Is there any possibility for me to upgrade my OS with Anytime?

  • I think Windows Anytime Upgrade is independent of the operating system language. I mean, you only need to provide a key for the target edition (Windows 7 Professional, in your case) and the wizard will take care of the rest (no DVD needed). The language and architecture (32 bit or 64 bit) will remain the same after the upgrade process.
