Add-in to mark outside senders RRS feed

  • Question

  • My company is trying to find ways to mark email sent from outside our company. We have tried a transport rule to prepend a warning to the message but that annoyed users too much. We tried conditional formatting but that is hard to deploy to a large number of users. Is there an add-in that can do this? Thanks for any help.

  • Hi Adam,

    Thanks for your reply.

    >>Classification might be a good idea but is it visible in the messages pane?
Classification will show up in the messages pane and it is visible to the recipient.

  • not clear how you want the message to be identified,

it sounds like you are on the right track with transport rule, maybe changing the classification, change scl rating, or you could add a disclaimer to the top/bottom of the message that's says "External" instead of prepending the subject?

As far as I know, “Transport rule” may be the only way in Exchange that can achieve your purpose, please refer to the suggestions of Darren Blanchard and see if it can make your users feel better.

Any update, please feel free to post back.

  • Increasing the scl on all inbound messages sounds like a bad idea. Altering the content of messages has been deemed as unacceptable. Classification might be a good idea but is it visible in the messages pane?
