GPO RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guy's,

We have been working on a GPO that will allow us to setup SNMP policies via a GPO. Unfortunately we cannot get part of the GPO to work. The GPO has been created and the policies for Community strings and Traps are all working fine, under the Computer section of the GPO, however, we have to install the SNMP Role on the servers before any of the policies will work.

We are attempting to install the SNMP Role via a script. We are using the User section for this purpose, following, User Configuration > Preferences > Windows Settings > Files and populating the Source and Target options using the Update Action that call in the scripts. The issue we are getting is that when I complete an RSOP that part of the policy does not seem to be applied. I cannot fathom out why. The Computer part of the policy applies normally without any issue but we cant get the User part of it to work as its not being applied at all.

Any help would be very helpful here as we have been on this all day and are hitting a brick wall.

Regards and thanks for any replies.
