Task Name column missing from Tasks View in PWA for some users RRS feed

  • Question

  • Have a strange scenario.

Under the Tasks view from PWA where resources update/complete their tasks, two users are not seeing the "Task Name" column, and as a result cannot see what they are updating. Remaining users are OK.

I suspect these two users have attempted to move columns or hide columns and that action has now somethign to do with the Task Name being removed from the view.

And when the user tries to "Configure Columns", the Task Name is greyed out - cannot even add it back in.

From an administration perspective, the admin cannot remove the "Task Name" column from the view as it is not allowed. I was thinking of removing the column and adding it back it to "override" any personalization. Here is what we see when trying to edit the view from server settings.

What can be done to resolve this?

    Environment is PS2010 + SP1 + June CU Refresh.

Answers

  • Went back into the view from Server Settings.

    Opened the view to edit.

Clicked on SAVE (instead of cancel)

Voila - the save overwrote the personal-ization if any.

User can now see the Task Column.
