  • Hi,

when using DPM to backup a volume, can I still use shadow copies for that volume (the ones which can be activate in disk management)?

    Greetings,

  • Hi _Tom_,

If your using those local shadow copies the journal of your disk will be altered and the volumefilter that corresponds with the dpm agent must be re-syncronized using a Consistencey Check.

The awnser to your question is don't use it.

  • What? We use local shadow copies all the time on our DPM-protected file servers and haven't had any problems at all.
