UAG Array RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We are going to be utilizing 3 UAG appliances. 2 at our main location and 1 in a disaster recovery site located in a different state. My question is, if I have all 3 servers in an array, and our appliances at the main location go down, lose power, etc. Will this impact the disaster recovery appliance in some way?

  • Keep in mind that all external interfaces need to be on the same network ID, and all internal interfaces need to be on the same network ID. If that works for you, there shouldn't be any problems.

  • I don't think so. If the array master goes down if you take care to promote a ramining member as the master there's no problem I think.

  • What Thomas is saying is correct. But generally in this kind of scenario I think it is not always possible to have same subnet range on both locations.

What I think is you can put another appliance at backup/disaster recovery site and create a array, like your main site, and import  UAG config, exported from main site, time to time.
