IE install fails and says I need to install prerequistes, when they don't apply RRS feed

  • Question

  • Helo,

I run the IE 10 install (IE10-Windows6.1-x86-en-us.exe), and the program stops about half way and says i need to install prerequisites. I clicked on the updates on this page and all of them say they don't apply to my system and nothing gets installed.  I am trying to install on a Windows 7 SP 1 desktop PC. Can you offer any help?

  • I found the solution to my problem.  Once I did this, the install went through.

    Resolution -

    1) If you are receiving the "Low Registry Space" error, set  the Registry Size Limit to "unlimited":

    Key:  RegistrySizeLimit
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Value: 0xffffff (4294967295)

    2) Reboot

    3) As a Administrator open a Command Prompt and  run "SFC /SCANNOW". The command should complete successfully and if any errors  were found, they should be corrected.
