start Internet Information Service without Admin rights in windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Microsoft Support,

I will like to know if I can configure and start windows IIS service without admin rights in windows 7 pro. My company policy does not allow to provide admin rights to users and hence users without admin rights cant start windows IIS service and console. Looking forward for a solution.

  • Hi Elifern,

Due to the IIS and .net need to change the local Windows settings when it starts, the user need to offer local administrator permissions to access. You cannot bypass the step unless you use Management Service Delegation for test. I have found some information which you want from IIS forum in the link below.

The steps for it are difficult. I suggest you post it to Microsoft Official IIS Forums to know specific steps about your requirement.
