Central store rollback

    Question

  • Hi,

I'm planning to change to a Group Policy central store but before I make the change wanted to check how you'd rollback to the local definitions if needed, would it just be as simple as deleting the PolicyDefinitions folder from SYSVOL?

Plenty of guides describing how to move to a central store but can't find anything that confirms the rollback process.

    Thanks in advance.

  • It would be. You would have to close the GPMC and re-open it as well.

  • Hello,

Yes, it is sufficient. Close all GPMC consoles, remove PolicyDefinitions folder, make sure that this change has been replicated to other domain controllers and then open GPMC again.
