Answers

  • That is due to the Avery Label Wizard add-in template which is totally un-neccessary as Word has the built in ability to produce labels.

Go to the Word Startup folder and delete it.

  • Sally,

The paths you gave are to the user templates folder, not the Word startup folder.

Also for Windows XP, there is no C:\users; it should be C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\Startup

for Vista and Windows 7, the correct path is C:\users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\Startup.

The OP should not remove Normal.dotm.  It does NOT contain hidden modules.

    Hi,

Usually this error occurs due to a corrupt template in the word startup folder. Remove this template from the startup folder.
Below is the location where you would find this file *Normal.dotm*:

    Windows XP: C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Template

    Windows Vista/Windows 7: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Template
