  • Try running this command in an elevated command prompt:

    sfc /scannow

You can also get to Windows Update with the following command:

    ms-settings:windowsupdate

You're right.  According to Help, About (Alt-H A) I'm at

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3078071
(security update for Internet Explorer: August 11, 2015 )

which does not refer to Windows 10.  Msinfo32.exe (System Information) Loaded Modules is showing even older module versions than that.

    How is that happening?

BTW I had already done an SFC before but did one again just now.  Got
"did not find any integrity violations."

So far there are no "Top Windows 10 Issues"

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/topsupportsolutions/

No sign of Internet Explorer here

Strike that.  I was just looking at the file version number instead of both the build number and the file version number.   Evidently 10240 can be behind 9600 for file version.

So, this shows a bug IMO.  IE11 on W10 should be giving us a link to the KB articles which apply to W10, not W8.1.  In this case it looks like it should be KB3074663 and something else.  The something else will be another one which explains why my version of mshtml.dll is

    mshtml 11.0.10240.16445 23.45 MB (24,593,408 bytes) 2015-08-19 22:04 Microsoft Corporation c:\windows\system32\mshtml.dll

  • Having this issue again. Been going on since 1st update for windows ten. Could not update anything at one time. Win 10 corrupted my new 1T SSD. Replaced it, and then the 1803 update corrupted files. Reformatted drive, reinstalled all software two different times. Smoothed it out until now. Any suggestions?
