MIMWAL Update Resource - Set the previous value RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm using a mimwal "update resource" activity to, when a certain condition is met, set an attribute value to ""  and prevent it from receiving the new value.

Now I would like to, on the same conditions, set the attribute to "previous/original" value instead of forcing it to "".

    How can this be done?

  • If you nullify the value, that is gone forever, unless you store it into another attribute. So you would need something like OLD_Attr and NEW Attr.

  • Can you elaborate what exactly you're trying to do?

If a certain condition is met you want to stop anybody from changing a particular attribute?

If that's the case you might wanna use a different way to achieve your result, like splitting sync rules for example

  • Hi,

I want to revert the attribute X value change if the attribute Y does not start with "G"

is it possible? Or must I have separate MPR's?

The thing is that Admins already can change that value and I was thinking on making the required "adjustment" on Attribute if the others attributes values are not compatible with the change being done o on attribute X, I would simply revert it.

  • Can you please put a use case, sudo example here? I am not sure I know what you want to do. If admins can do it, so can the WF

  • To me it sounds like it would make more sense to deny the request when the criteria is not met instead of reverting the value.

But since I'm not sure what you're trying to do either, I second the request of Nosh for a use case.
