Restore ofExchange mailbox in Data Protection Manager 2007 RRS feed

  • I am attempting to restore a single mailbox to a folder and drive on our Data Protection Manager server.  The recovery status indicates a data transferred number that is far larger than what the user mailbox size should be.  Is Data Protection Manager actually reading and restoring the entire Exchange database?  Will the finial result be the user mailbox is parced out eventually, or will the result be a restore of the entire database?

  • Hi,


    DPM only supports restore methods supported by the Microsoft Exchange team.  Individual e-mail or mailbox restores are only supported using Microsoft Exchange tools.  So we always restore the entire database to a recovery SG, then you use exchange tools to restore the individual mailbox.  See
