Cross forest windows update deployment. need help RRS feed

  • Dear friend, I had two windows servers

    1. Desktop  windows server 2012 R2

    2. Wifi windows 2008 enterprise server

    Two different forest , SCCM-2012 is install on desktop domain environment. Forest trust relation ship done ok.

    I had added igiwifi server as forest trust in sccm-2012 console , but showing active directory schema not extended.

    client push setting configure by adding cross forest admin right user.

    second server is windows 2008 enterprise , while extending schema , it showing different view. I cant add object as system container. if u are available , I can give remote to you at 9:30 am to 6:00 pm office hours.

    It will be very help to me if I success in it. my whole college wifi student can get windows update through single sccm-2012 .

  • Dear Sir,

    You don't have to stuck at extending the second AD Schema. SCCM can support clients crossing forests even not trusted. You can read below thread which contains many links :

  • Does wifi computer or laptop to be join in domain to get windows updates from SCCM-2012

    Computer which are in wifi domain had been discover but other computer's yet not discover. Plus discover computers had not yet push windows update. how to do it.

  • Dear Sir,

    To setup AD discovery, you need to change discovery settings from console: Administration -> Overview ->Hierarchy Configuration -> Discovery Method. Select property of discovery methods and add container for discovery.
