Exchange installation issue Client Access Service RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to migrate to  Exchange 2010 from Exchange 2003. I installed it once and wanted to reconfigure drive. Well... When I reinstalled everything fell apart. I searched thru TechNet and tried everything from removing server in ADSI edit to recovery etc.

I have completly re-built the server (pre-reqs etc)and installed using Setup /m:RecoverServer. Here are my logs to this point.

I would like someone to look at my logs and see where things went wrong.

Here is where I am at right now:

    D:\>Setup /m:RecoverServer

  • I figured it out. After 3 days of banging my head on my desk. I had to use ADSIEDIT to delete to old databases from the last server install. Then I deleted the client access role (.ps1) file from the ExchangeSetupLogs folder and changed the registry entry for the client access role from DisterRecovery to "Install"(setup failed otherwise). Setup then completed just fine. I wonder if I will have to delete the old Public folder database using ADSIDIT? I will have to look into that before I move my public folders from the old server. This all because of poor planning on my part.

  • Hi,

And if you try to just add the CAS role without the recoverserver option ?
