Project Server 2003 upgraded to 2007 - WSS Site Relinking error RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI,

I have successfully finished the following steps:

    1. migration of Project SErver 2003 data to Project SErver 2007 (VME)
    2. provisioned PWA 2007 using migrated 2003 DBs
    3. upgrade of content db, using pre-scan tool on 2003 farm.
    4. attached 2003 content db with seperate web-application

now when i am running WSSRelink tool to link the project sites with projects, its throwing me following error for every project:

<Project name> with GUID <24kjl13545> does not have a site

Also when the PWA was provisioned, there were no project workspaces listed on the home page. Also if i browse the project workspaces option in server settings, there are no URL listed for any project.

Does anyone came across any such issue? or have any idea how to reslove this?

there is only relevant reference i have found on the forums, but its of no help as well.

  • Can you identify the URLs for any of the migrated sites?  If you enter it
    manually can you hit it?

If not, then I would suspect the sites never migrated over.

  • Hi Khurram,

You could take all 6 DBs, 4 PWA and both content DBs - the content DB that contains PWA site and the content DB that contains the Project Workspaces.. Attach the content DB that contains the PWA site to the Web App that will be used to Provision the PWA site in 2010.

    Thanks

  • HI andrew, thanks for your response.

sometimes simple thing get overlooked - i am able to hit the project site using the URL from the content db, and than i followed Jason's suggestion:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/projserv2010setup/thread/7b844637-72cc-4733-8d3b-724d10887807/\

and it worked. although it was a pretty strange behavior, i did few migrations from 2003 and never come across such issue.

any how what i have got now, is all the project sites still resides in sepearte content db attached of web app which i created to relink the site with the PWA. (http://vme:98)

my pwa is hosted in seperate  web app (http://vme:99/pwa) using its own content db.

now if i have to do the full-upgrade from 2007 to 2010, i need 5 dbs. 4 are ok, for the content do i have to use the one which contains all my project site data? but that does not contain PWA site.

just need your quick advice, thanks.
