.NET Framework 4.5.2 - fatal error at Uninstall RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have running Win7Pro SP1 in a VM under VMware Fusion 5 on a Macbook.

The Windows Security Updates 3074230 and 3074550 for .NET Framwork 4.5.2 failed to install.

I tried to uninstall .NET Framework 4.5.2 to manually install it from the offline install paket

    NDP452-KB2901907-x86-x64 AllOS-ENU.exe 66,8MB.

The uninstallation of 4.5.2 failed with the message "Fatal error 0x80070643".

    What is to do?

  • Hi again Deason Wu,

I could repair the .NET Framework failure with Uninstall and Reinstall .NET Framework 4.5.2 and 4.5.1. After Reinstall 4.5.2 installing Security Updates for 4.5.2 was successful.

  • Thanks for your reply!

The current version 1.2 of the tool supports repairing the .NET Framwork 4.5.1, not 4.5.2.

Running this tool has no effect.

  • Hi,

Open the latest installation log file in the temporary directory and looking for error entries.

This may indicate that Windows Installer registry keys may not be correct.

    Navigate to following registry hive:

    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer

Check if following registry keys have correct values:

    MsiExecCA32 should end with \Windows\syswow64\msiexec.exe

    MsiExecCA64 should end with \Windows\system32\msiexec.exe

If the registry states right, Install windows update service
