How to build a fail over for the web servers RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hello everyone,

I am new in here and forgive me if i post any unclear information. I am currently on a project for my school to design and build a network for the small and medium business office. I have to build the database server using SQL Server 2008 and web server 2008.

I have done some research about building the failover cluster for the two database SQL. So, I will use the Fail over cluster for two Database SQL servers. Then, I need to have a web server . I plan to build two web servers. However, I am not sure about the best method to make it communicate or dedicate when one server is died and another one will kick in to help.

I also want to keep the cost low and avoid buy addition server. Please help me some suggestion that how to build it by using what method to make failover like the SQL. Or does it work if i put them all on cluster.

I don't have much experience and this is my first on hand project. Forgive me please.

2 x SQL server 2008 servers ( using Failover cluster)

1 x NAS or SAN ISCSI

Web server, (should i have two or what is the other method)

    Thank you,

i attach my network structure. please comment and suggest. Thank you,
