Exchange 2016 Edge CU6: Address Rewrite Entries taking long time to start working RRS feed

  • Hello, when I add an address rewrite entry to Exchange 2016 Edge it takes a long time for the address rewrite to take effect.  If I restart the Microsoft Exchange Transport service, the rule starts working immediately.  Has anyone seen this before?  Is there a way to speed things up?  Thanks.

    Thanks for contacting our forum.

    Per my experience, two transport agents on the Edge Transport server provide the rewriting functionality: the Address Rewriting Inbound Agent and the Address Rewriting Outbound Agent. 

    In general, when we add a new address rewrite entry, then we need to run the command: restart MSTransport service to let it take effect and there’s no other ways.
